The Savage 93 FV

A great target rifle. It is easily termed a “Tack Driver”  The 22 WMR (Win Mag) weighs in at 6 lbs, is 39.75 inches long and has a 16 in 1 twist. Comes with a 5 round mag which you will want to upgrade to the 10 round almost immediately. The heavy 21″ barrel allows you to shoot all afternoon without it heating up and is  very consistent.

Half inch groupings at 100 yards are common. On this gun I have the Scorpion Optics Copperhead Varmint 4-16 x 44 AO.  An excellent scope right out to 300+ yards. ( a wee bit of overkill for a 22 WMR but as Sandra upgrades rifles she will have a scope she is comfortable with already)  Some would say a 22 win mag could not be used out to 300 yards and yes it is a challenge but it can be done.

Seeing as we love to shoot, we are going for targets and the 22 WMR has no problem reaching out there. Sandra is becoming quite proficient at 100 yards. This is her step up from  the 22 Remington 597 , she has seen a 100% improvement in shot placement and enjoyment. I had a lot of fun setting up the savage for her and also enjoy iy not only for it accuracy but the economy of the ammunition. We are both looking forward to the 2014 season.
