The Mosin Nagant 91/30 7.62 x 54, 1943 made in Russia was the next acquisition after the SKS. The nice thing about surplus military rifles is their availability and low cost. The ammo is surplus and corrosive but as long as you clean it and take care of it you can have a lot of fun. I was intrigued with the Mosin after watching the movie ” Enemy at the Gate” the classic WWII sniper movie.
I picked up this one and , as with the SKS spent many hours cleaning it.
some of the parts and a comparison of the SKS to…
Quite the difference in the number of parts from a Bolt (Mosin) action to a semi auto .(SKS)
